Pinkie's Hyperactive Chat is Shutting Down
Due to a lot of its moderators losing interest and real life getting in the way of development, the current owner of Pinkie's Hyperactive Chat has decided to pull the plug on his web-based MMO by the end of the week, much to the chagrin of its active playerbase. It's quite a shame, I know, but at least Lordcerii has the decency to wait until sometime around Friday evening to shut it down, giving players a chance to exchange contact information so they can keep in touch after the end if t hey so desire.
The original announcement can be found here.
To the best of my knowledge this will leave Ponyplace as the fandom's only active MMO, although opinions on its overall quality are mixed. Not sure if >CLOP counts as a MMO either... Equestria Gaming

Rainbow Dash Cloud Attack [Android]
Rainbow Dash Cloud Attack [Android]
Well, this is apparently the first My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Game to come out on the Android. Now, I do not actually own an Android, so I can't properly review the game, but I'll just repeat what some others said.
The game was made well, and while the touch scre en controlls can be a little difficult and buggy, the tilt controls works really well with the game. There is a distinct lack of music and sounds, more than a few people noticed. The biggest problem with the game was the Ad, it completely blocked out the score so it was impossible to see how well you've done. Overall, the game was extremely well made, one of the better Cloud Destroying Arcade games out there.
I can't really score it without actually playing the game, but it's gotten a very good review on the Android Page, so I'd say it's more than worth getting. Equestria Gaming

Review: Innocent Luna Game
Review: Innocent Luna Game
Equestria Gaming
First of all, happy Halloween/Nightmare Night everypony!
If you follow this site, Iâm sure you at least know of the Luna games. For those of you living under a rock, this series of creepypasta platform titles has become a viral sensation for its nightmare-inducing scares. Much like Luna herself in the recent episode Luna Eclipsed, fan developer Dialgabrite wanted to prove that a good game featuring Luna doesnât have to be terrifying with his project Innocent Luna Game. Was he able to do it? Letâs find out after the break.
The gameâs plot makes it clear from the start that this is a lighthearted romp. As Luna, youâre thrust into different worlds where you must aid a diverse selection of characters, from assisting Whale Warsâ Paul Watson in taking down Japanese hunters to knocking sense into rogue Pokemon and Digimon bent on dominating Equestria. The game is divided into numerous chapters, each consisting of a Sonic-esque act and a boss battle.
To advance, you jump around as in any typical platformer, attacking enemies with lunar bolts and collecting⦠Yu-Gi-Oh cards? Sure, letâs go with that. While these three things(collectibles, pr ecise jumps, and attacks) are all crucial parts of the platforming experience that the developer has down, there are some issues to be found in this aspect. First of all, your weapon only shoots in one direction: forward and diagonally down. It would have been a lot simpler and more efficient if these projectiles had gone just straight forward a la Mega Man. And there are no power ups or cumulative upgrades that allow you to make it stronger or change its direction. Because of this, you must resort to jumping in order to successfully damage most enemies.
We're whalers on the moon...
And thatâs where the second problem comes in. Unlike games such as Super Mario Bros. where the height of your jump is affected by how long you press down its respective button, Lunaâs rather high jump goes the same height regardless. This means that youâll be moon jumping(no pun intended) everywhere you go, wh ich can be irritating when attempting to make some jumps or avoiding enemy fire. This is not the worst thing in the world, but it could definitely use improvement.
Finally, the items you collect are practically worthless, as you have unlimited lives. That said, this as well as the save feature are useful considering the lengthiness of this adventure. It took me a good few hours to complete the game- something I canât say for any other pony game Iâve played yet. Sometimes the formula is changed up a bit, but not always for the better. There are a few scrolling levels, a rail shooter level, and levels in which you transform into another character. While I thought that last one sounded really cool, these other characters(Nightmare Moon and Princess Celestia, to be specific) do nothing unique. Their attac ks have the same size, power, and function as Lunaâs, not to mention they are slower than the protagonist. This means the only thing that stands out about the two is a larger hurtbox- something especially noticeable in the battle against Leomon. You must fight the boss while a barrage of meteors come at you from the sky, with your only defense being a single platform, which Celestia can barely fit under. If Leomon is under the platform, receiving damage is practically inescapable.
This is very hit or miss in the presentation department. On the plus side, worlds are colorful and Luna is animated very nicely. The music selection is fun and eclectic, ranging from MLP remixes to J-Rock. However, none of these assets are original. The enemies are almost entirely static images, and all the pony sprites are ri pped from that batch that everypony and their mother use (some are even in our current banner). That said, itâs clear that the developer was very ambitious and had all the right intentions.
As such, I really want to go easy on this game. I love a good platformer, and the fandom has sorely been lacking a traditional platformer of a sizeable length. Unfortunately, it has a number of shortcomings I canât ignore. With that, Iâll give this game a:

Luna Vs. Fun
Luna Vs. Fun
Play it Here!
"Huzzah! How many points do I receive?" If you watched the most recent episode of Season 2, then you most likely remember the scene where Luna plays a traditional Nightmare Night spider-throwing game that she mistakenly calls "the fun." A Brony dream team consisting of Deviantart legend Egophiliac, popular remixer NotACleverPony, and game designer Texel has come together to create a short flash game based on this scene. You have to download an application called Unityplayer off of the link to play it, but the file is small and painless. The gameplay is simple: by holding down the mouse, you change how far you throw a spider. There's not enough to say about this to constitute a review, but I will say it's a fun little diversion. Also, look close and you may see a cameo or two in the spiders.... Equestria Gaming

A Release Date for Super Lesbian Horse RPG
A Release Date for Super Lesbian Horse RPG
Apparently Super Lesbian Horse RPG is coming out on Christmas Day (Wednesday, in case you haven't checked your calendars yet). Since I just got from watching The Desolation of Smaug and am rather tired, let's just say that words cannot fully describe my excitement so I can get this over with and listen to the Electric Light Orchestra, maybe see if a friend of mine is online at this hour.
Good night!

Super Pony Wars
Equestria Gaming
Browsing the graveyard that is Ponychan's /collab/ board can occasionally bring up interesting stuff if you have the patience to wade through the endless corpses of once-promising projects, and Super Pony Wars appears to be one of the few which isn't quite dead yet, as a demo for it was released a couple days ago without much ado. From what I've gathered it's supposed to be some sort of strategy/RPG game based off of Super Robot Wars (which I have neither heard of nor played), featuring a cast made up of original characters, an unintuitive interface that could really use some documentation, and a bunch of placeholder RPG Maker sprites. It could probably become a pretty decent game if it were given enough love, sure, but it's been kind of overlooked on Ponychan and the creator seems to be losing interest.
Dunno if this one will ever come to anything, unfortunately, so in the meantime all we can do is watch and wait.

After spending several months in a more or less inaccessible state, the My Little Game Dev community has finally relaunched its main site and forums to the general public. The forums (along with their quirky Cloudsdale group) are still the main draw for MLGD, of course, while the main site will apparently post articles on pony game development and whatnot. The latter I find to be an especially interesting idea if they manage pull it off well enough, as it' s something I've always wanted to do myself once I actually manage to finish one of my own games. After all, articles on game development written by people who've never actually tried it tend to go horribly wrong, as The Round Stable unwittingly demonstrated for us back in August.

Luna Game 2 (CREEPYPASTA)
Luna Game 2 (CREEPYPASTA)
Recently, I received an email by somepony asking for me to try out their game, and included was a nameless (and quite suspicious) .exe file. I launched the game (After virus scanning it over and over and over) and it reminded me almost immediately of the Luna Game. And that's exactl y what it was. It is unknown if this game was created by the same person who created the first Luna Game. The music featured is Super Ponybeat - Giggle at the Ghostie.
WARNING: SPOILERS - IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE GAME, SCROLL TO BOTTOM
This game starts out as you playing as Luna on a very simple platform level. It tells you immediately you can hold Shift and run. After you get going, you start to notice cracks forming in the ground. The cracks get bigger and bigger until they completely cover all of the ground. Suddenly, the screen flashes to a disturbing image of Pinkie Pie and plays white static for about a second, then flashes back to the game. Now, the background and the blocks are all tinted dark red, and you move very slowly. There is some disturbing music playing in the background.
At this point, the only thing to do is go forward until you reach a giant hole in the ground. After falling, the background fades to black, and you eventually fade after it, revealing a Game Over screen of Luna falling. The image used at this point is Luna's Descent. More creepy music begins playing, and after a minute the game closes. During this whole time, you are unable to close the game normally, and after the first flash you are unable to move your mouse, just like in the first Luna Game.
HERE is a youtube playthrough of the game.
The major difference between this and the first Luna Game, is that it does not create any extra files, an annoyance the first one was more famous for. This game is best played in d ark room with headphones for the full effect.
You can download the game HERE IT WILL SHOCK YOU, so be careful.
The platforming had a few glitches, such as getting stuck, but was done fairly well. The scare was also done fairly well, but because this is not a full game, it only gets

Twilight Sparkle vs Trixie
Twilight Sparkle vs Trixie
Twilight Sparkle vs Trixie
Equestria Gaming
As most people probably figured out by reading the game's title, Twilight Sparkle vs Trixie is about Twilight and her would-be arch-nemesis casting spells at each other. For some stupid reason they decided to position themselves on opposite sides of a hill, which means that they'll be blindly tossing spikeballs and whatnot over it in an attempt to damage their foe. Thing is, the multiplayer feature doesn't appear to be working at the moment and the singleplayer AI has incredibly bad aiming skills. In the course of a long match against it I was never hit once, unless you count the time I had a shield equipped. I can understand wanting to make a game that's easy to get into, sure, but there isn't much of a point in coming back if there's no real challenge.

MLP Flash RPG
Not too long ago, Actxyn began releasing information about an RPG that he's working on in Flash. The RPG has a typical turn based RPG battle system, much like that of the Final Fantasy series. The game does not have that much information released to the public yet, but the creator is looking for people to join the team, and some music bronies to make him so me sweet tunes, or allow access to their existing ones.
If you are looking to help out, you can check out actxyn's DeviantArt page HERE, and send him a message.
Below are the two current videos showing what the game has so far. You can also check out his DeviantArt for some more screen shots.

For various reasons, pegasi in most fangames seem entirely unable to fly. Why is this? It would entirely ruin a platforming game if they could do so, obviously, but no satisfactory in-universe explanation has been produced yet. Equestria Adventure 's Ponychan thread makes efforts to solve this conundrum by saying that it takes place in an alternate universe where pegasi cannot fly, but if that were the case then why would they even bother growing wings in the first place? Maybe pegasi are the new penguins or something, I dunno. At least she can still, you know, go fast and all of that stuff, which makes this demo somewhat worthwhile while it lasts.
Speaking of penguins...

At least penguins can use their wings for swimming, which I doubt Rainbow Dash would be very good at. |
Revenants of Chaos Needs Level Designers
Revenants of Chaos Needs Level Designers
If this trailer is anything to go by, I'd say that Revenants of Chaos captures Rainbow Dash's speed quite well its gameplay, which is uncommon for most platformers with her as a playable character. Ideally, Rainbow Dash shouldn't be content with simply trotting everywhere, but feel free to break out into a run or take to the skies. This isn't always possible, of course, but this project seems to pull it off quite splendidly, partially helped by an original soundtrack by DasDeer. T hing is, right now they could use some level designers, preferably ones who have tried their hands at Mario or Sonic-style levels in the past. If you'd be interested in helping them out, you could send their leader an email at okamikurainya@gmail.com or message them at their #Project-Dash deviantART page.
Of course, this comes a day after I lament the lack of Rainbow Dash platformers which actually let her fly. Figures.

Rainbow Dash Attack
Rainbow Dash Attack
Rainbow Dash Attack is a parody of the widely popular side-scrolling Robot Unicorn Attack. Instead of a robot unicorn, you play as Rainbow Dash. The music featured in this game is Always by Erasure.
No gameplay has been changed from the original Robot Unicorn Attack Game, and only a few other things have been reskinned. The game has no story, the only goal being to jump over cliffs, and not run into solid objects in order to make your points reach the highest they can. Collecting the butterfly things will give you point bonuses, along with Dashing into the giant stars.

MLP Generator Version 2.0
MLP Generator is a simple Pony Creator, made in flash by Shadarack Tailroam.
The game has no goal, but it allows you to customize a pony of your own, with 21 different mane and hair styles, your own custom cutie mark, a full color spectrum for mane, hair, and coat, and eye color. You can even choose between male and female, and being an earth pony, pegasus, unicorn, or alicorn.
The game was put together well, with a few small problems. The biggest problem I encountered was the customizable cutie mark part. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't seem to get that cutie mark in there. This was a problem few others encountered, so it must have just been my computer. A few of th e other smaller problems with the game were all along the lines of the colors not completely filling in the entire mane, tail, or coat.
While the game already has a lot of customization, there is still a lot more it could have. More types of eyes, body builds, facial expressions, and accessories would be nice. The cutie mark customizer was a very welcome addition, no ot her pony maker has that option as of now. And if you're feeling lazy, just press the random button a few times for every option, you're bound to find something cool eventually.
The game was well put together for a pony builder, but lacks many features, and the thing that made it stand out most, the customizable cutie mark, didn't seem to be working for me (I've heard it works for everypony else, so my computer just derps). I can't really put a rating on this type of game, so instead I'll just say: Check it out.

3D My Little Pony Indie Game - Demo Update
So somepony is putting together a 3D My Little Pony game, and honestly it doe sn't look half bad. The pony models are actually decent, and the gameplay video actually displays some pretty good controls and physics.
So far, the video shows that the world is large, and very explorable. The clouds can very in size, and pegasus are able to walk on them like normal ground. Two playable characters have been displayed; Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. At this point, the game has no purpose or story of any sort, the only thing you are able to do is fly around.
The model's Mane's are still being worked on, as you can see with the video demonstration below.
